Space Scrape teams up His Airness, Michael Jordan, with His Hareness, Bugs Bunny, for a fun, and humorous, family film.

Michael Jordan has retired from basketball, and currently playing baseball, when Bugs Bunny and his Looney Tunes pals ask for his wait on in playing a b-ball game against diminuative aliens from Moron Mountain. These aliens have stolen the talent of 5 NBA players, including Charles Barkley and Patrick Ewing, and are now larger than life. Since this is Looney Tunes Land, this game is NOT your average basketball game. If it was, it wouldn’t be any fun.

Though not an actor of any kind in anyone’s book, Michael Jordan does a very superior job of interacting with his cartoon co-stars. Most of the jokes are well done and the basketball game itself is a lot of fun. In addition, it is quite laughable to study the 5 NBA players that had their “games” stolen trying to cope with their newfound ordinaryness.

This movie is not groundbreaking by any means and most all of the unique Looney Tunes cartoons are better. But this movie never tries to be more than it is: a great time. And at that, it succeeds very well.

The original “Plot Plight” 2-Disc DVD is a fun addition to any Looney Tunes or family DVD collection.

Disc One features the film, which can be enjoyed with commentary from the director, as well as Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck. Most DVD commentaries are a bore to sit through–and this one does have its over technical moments (especially if you have young children who “possess in” Bugs or Daffy), but the comments from the characters are very witty–including a jab that Bugs throws at Michael Jordan early in the presentation (concerning his brief baseball career) .

Rounding out the first disc is the theatrical trailer of the film (this is almost a MUST with me for any DVD) .

The Second Disc is a nice bonus and could have easily been packaged as a stand-alone item. It features a “Making of Location Pickle” and several Looney Tunes shorts (from the 1980’s and 1990’s), as well as the 1988 television special, “Bugs vs. Daffy: Battle of the Music Video Stars”. Speaking of music videos, the second disc also features “Sail Like an Eagle” and “Monstars Anthem”.

This is a mammoth gift for any Looney Tunes fan. Folks who liked it as children in 1996 (when the film was released) should mild like it as teens. Children who have never seen it will also be pleased it. In short, it’s a keeper.

The Complete Second Season is the definitive version that Disney Zorro fans have waited years for. Covering the 39 episodes that comprise season #2 (1958-1959), this slight edition (and numbered) 6-disc space of 30,000 includes a Certificate of Authenticity, a collectible pin (very radiant showing a silver sword with a shadow of Zorro & his horse superimposed on top), as well as a black-and-white photo postcard showing Guy Williams in his Zorro costume. A booklet outlining the contents of the position can also be found here. The region comes handsomely encased in a gloomy metal tin, fitting of this B&W series where the hero wears an all-black costume.

A 3:29 intro by Leonard Maltin introduces the episodes and gives a brief overview of the series and these particular episodes along with the extras on these discs. The remastering is evident on these episodes. The characterize is determined and so is the sound; naturally, with the diagram it was originally recording, a digital surround experience is not possible, but the Dolby Digital recording is crisp, certain, and the get sounds better than it has in years. And no…there are no colorized versions here. Honest the profitable shaded and white originals.

Besides the 39 episodes (starting with “Welcome to Monterey”, novel air date of 10/9/1958 and finishing with #39 “Finders Keepers”, recent air date of 6/2/1959), there is a 6th disc of bonus material. Here you will collect 2 hour long episodes:

1. “Zorro: The Postponed Wedding,” recent air date of 1/1/1961, from Walt’s anthology TV series “Walt Disney Presents.” Clocking in at 49:04, this episode features Annette Funicello, who is beginning to extinct into a very fair young lady.

2. “Zorro: Auld Acquaintance,” current air date of 4/2/1961, from Walt’s anthology TV series “Walt Disney Presents.” Starring Ricardo Montalban & Ross Martin (“Wild Wild West”) this episode is 49:09 long.

There is also a featurette entitled, “Late The Screen” (7:52) which is a short gaze at Zorro’s leading man, Guy Williams. Also known as Professor Robinson on “Lost In Position,” Williams is often regarded as the quintessential Zorro. Current by his costars (Suzanne Lloyd is quoted here as saying Williams was “one of the most charming professional men I ever had the pleasure of working with”), he began as a model and then became a contract player at Universal. An injury sidelined him and caused him to catch up fencing. A call to audition for Disney’s Zorro was a fortuitous atomize for the actor, and catapulted him into stardom. Zorro’s stunt double, Buddy Van Horn is also interviewed here, along with Williams’ son, Guy Williams, Jr., who obviously has many fond memories of his father and this particular role. Interestingly enough, it is recounted that most action scenes were shot on Fridays so that any injuries would have the entire weekend to heal! Rare color movies of Williams performing at Disneyland as Zorro are shown here; Van Horn recalls them staying at the Disneyland Hotel and taking advantage of the carte blanche they had at the Hotel. Author Antoinette Lane, Guy Williams: The Man Leisurely the Veil, is also interviewed about Williams, recounting what a role model he was, playing a father figure in “Lost in Station” and a protector in “Zorro.”

Finally steal a stir to the Walt Disney archives in Burbank on the studio lot (10:55) . Leonard Maltin and Guy Williams, Jr. point to modern costumes and sword from the display, calling particular attention to the lavish detail (splendid silver thread, fine embroidery, and heavy wool) that is evident in these pieces made by Western Costume. Two costumes are also shown with the illustrious “Z” emblazoned on them, including one for Henry Calvin’s oafish and comedic Sergeant Garcia. Next up a great sampling of the more than 500 licensed items that were sold to promote the Disney series, including lunch boxes, rings, child costumes, and even roller skates!

This fabulous plot is a must-have for Disney fans both recent and conventional alike. Quality entertainment presented in a quality package.

So finally the release is happening that Disney kept leading us on saying would not happen, so guess what kids? You want Zorro you have to pick it from the Disney Movie Club. Disney touted Zorro being a “Disney Club Outlandish”, so like an idiot I believed them, and went and bought each of the 5 dvd sets that comprised season one at $20-$30 a pop from the club, then they decided to release the stout season into a boxed space of the same discs for cheaper, again unruffled only to the Movie club chump members like me. These versions were in the rotten colorization they did for the Disney Channel some years ago and had not a single extra, but Disney quiet led on this was all they would have available for Zorro as it “wasn’t a large seller” according the folks I called at the Disney Club. Now lookee here lo and look somehow magically Disney seems to consider there might be more milk to the cow of this franchise and is willing to squeeze it for all its worth. Allotment of me is very pleased with these releases, but section of me wants to curse Disney’s murky soul in their duplicity and dirty double dealings. This is not the plot to treat precise customers: lie, lie and lie some more if it makes more money. I admire musty Disney entertainment, but man do I disapprove the new company that dishes it out.

All of my “conventional man ranting” aside, it is nice that finally Zorro is getting the release it deserves, I unprejudiced wish…beg… hope.. plead that they be more just in the dealings they have with fans. I seriously feel passe AGAIN, I really don’t feel like I can ever trust them again after all the times I have and have been let down (like the edits in the Disneyland USA dwelling when it was CLEARLY advertised in print ads as being “current and uncut”.) Not to mention the incredibly itsy-bitsy numbers for the last place compared to the entire rest of the Treasures series. Is it so base as a customer to interrogate stout honesty and integrity from a company that constantly eschews the same morals in their products? Do they want my trust and loyalty or fair a chance to rape my wallet?

For anyone familiar with other Mill Creek collections, this is radiant standard. It’s a collection of 600 cartoons, of frequently middling video quality and unknown provenance (i.e. you may being seeing the version originally shown, or the version edited for TV 30 years later) . The collection is indiscriminate–”Destination Earth” is a propaganda fragment by the oil industry, for example–but most of them are fairly typical cartoons. If you have other cartoon collections, this probably overlaps them, if it doesn’t include them. Many of these cartoons are available online from legit sources.

Being familiar with Mill Creek, my worst jam with this station was organization. There’s no excellent reason to spread series across several disks, mixed in with other cartoons. No disk is filled by cartoons with one character or by one series, and one typical example, the Popeye cartoons, have 30 cartoons on one disk, 6 on another, and one more on its lonesome.

Is it worth it? If you have to have honest about every cartoon released in these “public domain” cartoon collections in one clean box, then this is your box. If you don’t have any “public domain” cartoon collections and want to ogle one, this will start and objective about extinguish your collection. You might want to grab a few DVDs at a dollar store first, to peek if it’s to your taste. If you’re looking for a decent collection of almost any of the Warner Brothers or Disney characters, then don’t recognize here; slight of their work is available here, and it’s not the genuine shorts. If you’re looking for beautifully restored film, likewise, you need to examine at pricier, smaller sets; this status averages okay with some handsome poor stretches, and at no point has seen careful restoration.

I’ve always been attracted to aged cartoons. This dvd has lots of them and many big memories are here. There are cartoons by Paul Terry, George Pal, and others from the early days of movie cartoons. Cartoon characters include The Limited King, Felix the Cat, Toonerville Trolley, Betty Boop, Popeye, Casper, Dinky Lulu, Farmer Alfalfa, and Dick & Larry aka Tom & Jerry (not the cat and mouse) . You’ll surely regain some that you like. Nope…there aren’t any Looney Tunes here, though.

I have to be unbiased, I have yet to recognize the game. However, after reading the synopsis of the exhibit, I decided I had to check it out. The intrigue and enjoyment of the note is the ideas slow adding a human factor to the characters. A washed out father, kids who try to avoid him, a wife that left them all, and the appearance of a orbital frame with an A.I. that’s only begun to learn. All reach together through the typical dysfunctional values of family and charge head first into what ever presents itself. In all, I loved it! The sound is respectable on the 5:1. The graphics are standard. The thought is wonderful! And, it’s all pulled together in a immense petite package of a set that hits on the surface of family and duty. You’ll laugh and be thoroughly entertained. I definately recommend this one.

One of the best anime series I have ever seen. The narrative is phenomenal. It makes you judge. Its not unprejudiced battles and pointless killing. Its a enormous area line about family, freedom, and struggling to produce it in a cruel world; or worlds in this case. If you like a respectable legend and luxuriate in these qualities in an anime, then I highly recommend you check this one out.
